Join STARS

The Seattle Textile And Rug Society (STARS) is dedicated to increasing knowledge and appreciation of fine rugs and textiles for members and the general public throughout the greater Puget Sound area.  Through meetings, speakers, newsletters, and exhibitions, STARS provides its members an opportunity to learn, and to share their interest in the world of carpets, textiles and the related arts. Anyone interested in studying, collecting, preserving or decorating with textiles and rugs will enjoy being a member of STARS.

MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS

• Advance notice of meetings and information about speakers. Meetings occur several times per year. The typical format will include light refreshments and a presentation by a member or guest speaker. Most meetings include the opportunity for members and guests to bring rugs and textiles for discussion.

• Free admission to meetings and exhibitions. $5 for non-members and guests.

• Copy of the STARS membership directory (inclusion optional).

• The STARS newsletter, which includes articles, announcements and notices of upcoming events of interest to the textile and rug community.

MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION

STARS membership is open to all.  Membership is for one year beginning with the date of receipt of the membership fee. Membership fees help pay for speakers, mailings, and the cost of putting on meetings. There are different membership levels available.

• Basic Seattle-area membership for an individual is $25, or $35 per couple per year.

• Dyed in the Wool membership for an individual or couple, is $100. Dyed in the Wool members may bring guests to meetings at no charge. Your generosity in support of STARS is appreciated!

• Out-of-area membership for those who don’t regularly attend meetings is $10 within North America, $15 outside of North America.

• Student Membership free with photocopy of current student ID.
