The Seattle Textile And Rug Society (STARS)
was founded in 1998, and is dedicated to increasing knowledge and appreciation of fine rugs and
textiles for members and the general public throughout the greater Puget
Sound area. Through
meetings, speakers, the web, and exhibitions, STARS provides
its members an opportunity to learn and to share their interest in the
world of carpets, textiles and the related arts. Anyone interested in
studying, collecting, preserving or decorating with textiles and rugs

Next Meeting From Sagdak to Salor: Design Traditions of Central Asia with JÜRG RAGETH Monday, March 3, 2008, 6:30PM
Pioneer Hall Jurg Rageth will present his latest research on the ancient origins of designs found in the weavings of Central Asia. By combining art historical methods with scientific analysis of dyes and fibers, Jurg will show that weavers from the last century were influenced by designs dating back at least two millennia.
